So I’ve always had the dream of bathing in chocolate.
Yes, ever since I first saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I had unrealistic expectations of what I could possibly achieve in life. While I am pretty sure that I will never be sailing through a chocolate river, I have found a solution that will let me get pretty close.
What is it, you may ask?
My friends, the answer is this divine chocolate body scrub. My sister, and blogger over at A Slice of Kate, kindly agreed to a guest post on my blog to give you all the opportunity to experience the complete and utter perfection of this DIY concoction.
Chocolate Body Scrub by Katelyn Rutt
We’re getting closer to February by the minute, so I’ve been starting to turn everything (and I mean, everything) super Valentine-y and festive! I absolutely love Valentine’s Day because of the pink & red, roses, decorations, and of course…food! You just can’t have Valentines Day without chocolate, so I wanted to incorporate this delicious ingredient into a luxurious DIY body scrub! I’m all about indulging, and a fun spa night is the recipe for relaxation. This scrub takes only minutes to make and smells just like a Girl Scout Thin Mint cookie (you will be SO tempted to eat some)! It’s so chocolatey and rich and makes your skin feel amazingly soft! Plus, add a jar and some red tulle, and it will make an adorable Valentines gift for a friend!
For a single recipe, you will need:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Hershey’s cocoa powder,
- 1 cup of olive oil,
- 1/4 tsp of peppermint extract (you can add more or less, depending on your preference!).
I also added some chocolate shavings…because you can never have too much!
My favorite chocolate to eat is the Ghirardelli Midnight Reverie. (However, I suggest using unsweetened baking chocolate, since you won’t be eating this!) You can either shave it with a knife, or use a grate like I did!
Just mix it all together really well…
And there you have it! It’s so simple, yet so incredibly perfect! (I’m obsessed!)
Pretty! This has been a really wonderful post. Thank you for providing these details. Cheers!
