Welcome back to another post in my Discover DC series (Check out Bluestone Lane and Union Market), which is my insider/blogger perspective on some of my favorite spots in Washington DC. Today, I’m sharing the most adorable little bagel shop with you, Bullfrog Bagels. This little shop is actually located inside of a quaint little townhouse just down the street from Eastern Market. They have three locations in DC, however, I think this one on 7th Street is the cutest!
Believe it or not, Bullfrog Bagels used to actually be a pop-up shop that became so well-loved, that they opened up permanent locations. They are known across the District for their chewy, hand-rolled, hand-boiled bagels that they make fresh in-house every day! The menu is simple and there are not a million flavors, but what they do have is GOOD.
I got a sesame bagel with egg and cheese and it made for the perfect Saturday breakfast. They also have bomb cream cheese in a TON of different and unique flavors, which they make in-house as well. If you’re more adventurous, they have very unexpected options like smoked salmon, onion and even liverwurst. Not my cup of tea, but if you’re feeling it, go for it!
The shop is super simple/no frills and it’s pretty small (it is a townhouse, after all), so I might recommend it more for a grab-and-go option, although they do have seating outside and upstairs!
*Pro-tip – Since the shop is small, I would definitely recommend getting there on the earlier side to beat the crowds (particularly on the weekends!)
*Bonus Pro-tip – If you go on a nice day, see if you can snag one of the outside tables on the second floor porch! It has the cutest little view of the street!
Bagels make me SO HAPPY. What’s your favorite flavor??
The place looks good and the food looks sooo yummy!

Thanks girl! It definitely was!
Such a cute café, I like bagels too the best one I tasted was the rainbow bagel in Brooklyn. Americans really make good bagels 🙂 I’m following you now in Instagram.

Yummm that sounds so, so good! Hope you have a great weekend too! <3
Is it bad that I don’t like bagels?! This is the cutest little shop though, and the second floor balcony is the cutest thing ever!! I wish I liked bagels now!! Love the photos!! xx

AWW YOU DON’T LIKE BAGELS?! That’s so sad! Hahaha but probably healthier anyways! Glad you liked the photos – thanks Zoe!
Great post! Photos are amazing! 🙂
Thank you!
The exterior is so charming, and I love the industrial vibes of the interior too! I’m not even close to being a bagel snob, and it doesn’t take a lot for me to love a bagel. There used to be a bagel shop next to my apartment called Bruegger’s Bagels (a chain), and I would always get the rosemary olive oil bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. It tasted so good and expensive, but it cost just as much as a plain bagel with plain cream cheese (I think)! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
Yummmm – that bagel with the honey walnut cream cheese sounds absolutely amazing!!! I’m the same though, girl. It doesn’t take much for me to love carbs haha!!
Love how you have this series to promote some great visits in DC! I love the idea of Bullfrog Bagels! The sesame bagel with egg looks DELICIOUS! Oh man, I am craving for one just now XD. I really like the seating upstairs. Thanks for sharing! I need to book a trip to DC one of these days ;).
