I’m always scoping out the city for the latest and greatest coffee shops in Washington, DC. However, one that always seems to rise to the top of my list is DC’s very own Café Georgetown. From the aesthetic, cozy atmosphere to the beautifully artistic coffee drinks, I cannot think of a more elegant or welcoming spot in DC. I absolutely love the elegant interior, sun-drenched patio, and delicious treats customized to every season. Although the space is certainly small, it makes for a welcoming environment that I always enjoy, whether I’m grabbing a latte in the morning or sipping on a glass of wine in the evening.
I love stopping in to relax and sip on a coffee creation before heading to do some Georgetown shopping/wandering (also, be sure to check out my Georgetown travel guide here) or scheduling a tea date with an old friend and catching up for hours. However, perhaps what I respect most about Café Georgetown is that it is female-led: dreamed up and run by the first female Turkish White House Correspondent and her daughter. Every time I come in, I’m always greeted with an effervescent energy, beautiful aesthetic and a next-level drink.

My favorite time of the year to stop in is always February, when they have the most beautiful rose-themed lattes and pink layered iced coffees. However, they customize their drinks for each season, including cherry blossoms, St. Patrick’s Day, Pride, and more. If you’re able to snag a spot there, the little indoor “patio” area is always my favorite with blue tile floors that are an Instagrammer’s dream. They’ve also recently invested in a latte printer, which doesn’t provide the handcrafted beverage effect, but is nonetheless so much fun. I first experienced one of these at Carrera Café in LA (and quickly became OBSESSED), but this is the first one I’ve seen in Washington, DC. They can print anything from symbols, phrases and even photos onto your latte. Definitely a fun way to spruce up your go-to drinks!
In the midst of crazy life, Café Georgetown is truly the perfect little oasis and escape in the heart of Georgetown. If you visit, let them know that I sent you!
Such a lovely place! Too bad it’s so far from where I live (I’m from Belgium).
Lots of love,
