Can we take a moment to appreciate how the wonderful world of breakfast food? Specifically, Valentine’s-themed breakfast food (AKA anything with chocolate and strawberries)?
I have a special place in my heart for all things Valentine’s Day-themed (see this Raspberry Smoothie, this divine Dark Chocolate Strawberry Bark, or these Health Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes).
So today, I’m sharing with all of you, my all-time favorite crepe recipe so that you can feel all fancy and sophisticated as you bite into these dreamy, warm crepes filled with juicy strawberries, fluffy homemade whipped cream, and drizzled with melted chocolate. Actual perfection.
Although they may look complicated, I can assure you that each component of this recipe is ridiculously quick and easy. Have some friends over and impress them all with your jaw-dropping crepe skills…they won’t be disappointed.
ALSO – you MUST go all the way with these. No store-bought whipped cream here. I suppose I should offer up the confession that I had never made homemade whipped cream until this past year…and once I did?
LIFE. CHANGED.
You will never go back to that mushy stuff that comes out of the aerosol can. This homemade whipped cream recipe has two ingredients and is SO simple to make, so you have no excuse not to make it from scratch!
Okay, so with all of that said…stop reading and go grab your skillet and strawberries, because you’ve got some crepe-making to do!

- Rinse and slice strawberries.
- Toss with sugar and orange zest, if desired.
- Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
- Heat a large skillet or crepe pan over medium heat and coat with butter or cooking spray.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter into the skillet and immediately rotate the pan until the batter covers the bottom of the skillet in a thin layer.
- Cook until light brown and the top begins to dry out, about 1 minute.
- Flip and cook an additional 30 seconds.
- Fill each crepe with strawberry filling and roll up. Serve with homemade whipped cream and drizzle with melted chocolate or Nutella.
- In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream and powdered sugar.
- Using an electronic mixer, beat on the highest setting until the cream forms into peaks.
